Le Syndicat - Propagation (BKO Media / La Nouvelle Audience, BKOMCD02/LNA-E-004, 2010)

"Propagation" includes the final return of the French Le Syndicat combo after more than a decade unedited original work of long duration. For those not yet familiar with the group, it suffices to note that this is one of the founders of industrial sound to the early eighties. Heading own a very raw sound and fierce, Le Syndicat produced movies like "Relikat," "Corrumpate," "righteousness" and many others that are now considered classic sound transgressive and primary industrial.
The 2007 edition of the anthology "Broken Flag: A Retrospective 1982-1985" Le Syndicat gave him an unexpected fame, to introduce a new generation an excellent selection of work that the band produced for the legendary label of Gary Mundy . The band seems to have taken advantage of this sudden popularity, establishing its web site, organizing a series of live shows, reissuing some work and finally deciding to create new material. And although it becomes evident when listening to this new job today do not pursue their goals with the same sonic belligerence, Le Syndicat clear with "Propagation" is about a group that preserves and mature their artistic and is clearly capable of producing sonic works perfectly strong and vital.
"Propagation" shows a cluster accessing a variety of resources to shape their work: none of the elements used in its composition becomes permanent in its form of execution but all are established as temporary tools in making a design complex and constantly changing. From the depth with which they attack with the opener track "1002 Nights"-with these serious that appear to come from underground explosions and the eventual formation of a landscape that blends noisy metallic percussion and an eerie radio voices collage of crashes, sirens and explosions, you can see that Le Syndicat is serious. Their intricate designs of recurrence, abrupt cuts, gloomy atmosphere and overflowing downloads pastiches make cuts like "Truth" or "effondrement" disturbing examples of a moody sonic task, disruptive and even absurd, but, yes, very carefully.
Other cuts, such as "Cable" or "Do You Sleep?" glimpses of a world are fully mechanized, industrial delusional fantasy where human breath or the chirping of birds become a cog visions of a millimeter accurate. The realization of these nightmarish images sound is generated through all types of audio files, from the direct use of musical instruments and amplification of unusual objects, to the use of field recordings and the modification of anonymous voices. Le Syndicat even dare with an infectious remix of "Truth" in the purest vein of Test Dept., giving the listener a brief respite to retrace the noisy delirium.
The huge mass of debris that is "Propagation" is thus formed as an elusive formal delirium, which has a particular sense of humor that is no less shocking. Le Syndicat achieved in this study reaffirm their faith in the ruidismo in a sense almost avant-garde, largely rid of its most rough but not thus showing even remotely condescending. Excellent work, perfect for (not) dream. (SS)
